Gulu University suspended over 1,000 students following Wednesday's strike

1,000 Gulu University Students Suspended
Gulu University has suspended over 1,000 students following Wednesday's strike in which some students set ablaze the university hall (photo).
The disgruntled students mostly in their First and Second academic years, had for the last one week been protesting the delayed release of last year's examination results.
The university management convened an impromptu meeting with student leaders and resolved to suspend all activities at the Faculty of Education and Humanities with immediate effect.
Gulu University Vice Chancellor Prof Jack Nyeko Pen-Mogi condemned the students’ actions saying the students shouldn't have directed their anger on a building. HT/DM
