Gulu University suspended over 1,000 students following Wednesday's strike

1,000 Gulu University Students Suspended

Gulu University has suspended over 1,000 students following Wednesday's strike in which some students set ablaze the university hall (photo).

The disgruntled students mostly in their First and Second academic years, had for the last one week been protesting the delayed release of last year's examination results.

The university management convened an impromptu meeting with student leaders and resolved to suspend all activities at the Faculty of Education and Humanities with immediate effect.

He didn’t really have so much issue with my job but whenever I went for a red carpet event and stayed late, he wouldn’t like it. Whenever he was in the country and I stayed out late, he wouldn’t like it. He is based in London. He had issues with anything that kept me out late at night. It is somebody that got married to the likes of Omotola and Chioma Chukwuka. Those are people I look up to.”

Eze further disclosed that she still in search of that man who would love her for who she is, a man who is responsible, not loud, cool, God fearing and can bear anything with her. The actress also revealed that, she would love to be a politician in the nearest future.

Disney and Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War continues to do mighty business at the box office, earning an estimated $75.3 million Friday on its way to $180 million for its domestic debut — the fifth best opening weekend ever. The stellar tally from industry estimates gives the superhero film the eighth best opening day in history, just ahead of The Twilight Saga: New Moon ($72.7 million) and behind The Dark Knight Rises ($75.8 million)

The film, which centers on a disagreement that forces the Avengers to choose sides between Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), is expected to take at least the fifth best opening ever, jumping ahead of Iron Man 3’s $174 million debut. UFC boss Dana White dismissed the report as false and said it was just a tabloid story. But Floyd’s father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., said in an interview with ESNews Friday (video here) that his son has talked about fighting an MMA fighter who was later mentioned as McGregor. “He had told me the other day that he’s going to take another fight,” Mayweather Sr. said about Floyd Jr. “He told me it’s (against) some kind of MMA fighter.” Mayweather Sr. didn’t seem to know all the details surrounding the potential fight, saying he had heard it would be in the boxing discipline rather than MMA.

Though he thinks his son needs to get back in the habit of training more, he does think such a fight will happen soon. “Pretty sure it’s gonna come around real soon. Won’t be that long,” said Mayweather Sr. The potential fight between Mayweather and McGregor reportedly was going to pay Floyd £100 million and McGregor £7 million. McGregor has been in a dispute with the UFC allegedly over the promotion for his rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 200. The UFC pulled McGregor from the fight, leaving the Irishman to talk about retiring. One report even said that McGregor was in a pay dispute with the UFC. Mayweather has not fought since beating Andre Berto in September in what he said was his final fight. That fight completed Floyd’s six-fight contract with CBS/Showtime, meaning another bout would require a new deal. There have also been recent signs such as these that Mayweather would be fighting again.
